The TV comeback.

Truly Lost Boys

I gave this new show a chance last night and I’m not sure why. The show is called The Two Coreys and it’s about Corey Feldman and Corey Haim (the dynamic duo from Lost Boys and other great 80′s flicks) and how their friendship has developed now that they are older and both not really doing much.

The premise is that the slightly more successful Corey (Feldman), who is now married, has graciously offered to have the other Corey (Haim) stay at his place for a few weeks so they can bond. It also happens to be the 20th anniversary of Lost Boys (what a coincidence). They fight and makeup and fight and makeup and it ends with an emotional moment when Feldman breaks it to Haim that a Lost Boys 2 movie is being made without them. Of course this only makes their relationship stronger and the season promises to bring us more zany mishaps as the two continue to fight and makeup.

I don’t know why I even give these shows a chance. They are all scripted and they all suck in the very same way. They all try to take people that we have sort of forgotten about, but that we loved at one time, and show us just how depressing and unstable their lives have become in hopes that we will feel sorry for them and love them so they can cash in.

Please people…do  not watch Two Coreys or any show of this nature. That won’t stop them from being made but at least your life will be better. But on the other hand maybe you should watch because in the words of Corey Feldman…

“I’m more than an actor. I’m an icon…an industry.”

Alien Babies and other things of that nature.

Reptile Kin

I just watched V: The Final Battle again with a few buddies and I forgot how absolutely amazing it is. When I was growing up this was one of my favourite movies (mostly because I probably shouldn’t have been watching it).

This mini-series features some of the corniest lines ever written. You will be laughing a lot. However, there are some really cool messages/undertones throughout the film about fascism and some of the FX are pretty sweet even though they are certainly dated.

I definitely recommend going to the local video store and picking up V: The Mini Series and V: The Final Battle. You will not be disappointed…and if you are…you can ream me out later.

Well, it finally happened. I got my act together and reworked the ol’ website. I realize that it’s a little insane to start my first real post with 5 pictures of myself lining the top. People may get the impression that I think very highly of myself. As you can see from the photos, this is most certainly not true.

Anyway, I am excited to get this thing rolling. Check back here often for (as the title suggests) thoughts, music, poetry, and nonsense that comes out of my head.

I leave you now, but I’ll be back soon (maybe even tomorrow).
